"Learned a lot about building company culture"

Among a large pool of applicants to SpennX, 25-year-old Daniel Steenbuch was selected for three coaching sessions with Petter Stordalen. Their first meeting was a breakfast and Monday pep talk at Sommerro.

“I was curious about how Petter thinks when it comes to building company culture,” Daniel says.

“Petter is one of the best in the country at culture building, and I’m especially impressed by what he’s achieved with integration. He’s provided jobs for an incredible number of people who are outside the workforce – all while running a profitable business.”

Daniel holds a master’s degree in economics, works in finance, has delivered medical aid to Ukraine, and has helped friends launch several startups.

"What’s the most important takeaway from your first conversation?"

“That you need to see beyond the financial statements. Petter talks about the things you can’t measure – like the winter conference at Strawberry. It’s expensive, but the value it brings to employees can’t be quantified.”

“I’ve spent five years getting good at accounting, and now I realize that if I want to become even better, I need to look beyond the numbers.”
