“Söder has always been innovative, but on the food scene it is a groundbreaking shift now. In 20 years, we will look back on this area as the place where food culture in Stockholm changed forever," he says.
Here's Kalles favourite places:
A Unique Dining Experience
“My absolute favourite restaurant is Miyakodori. They’ve got extremely good skewers and drinks. Affordable, pleasant service and very, very tasty food! Unique! On Sundays, they always make an incredible katsu sando.”

The best takeaway in town!
“For a great takeaway on a weekday evening, my wife and I like to go to our favourite, China. Quick, easy and inexpensive. Our favourite dish is beef fillet with guoba and chili chicken.

A local gem for good wine
“One place that I think complements Södermalm in a unique way is restaurant BAMBI. It’s a small cellar with good, rustic French food and exciting wines, which also quite often extends invitations to movie screenings, live music and other lovely events.”
Great bars to hang out at
“Either a Guinness at Wirströms in the old town or I head out to Riche Fenix in Götgatan, Södermalm. Fenix is a great place to hang out if you like to meet a lot of people and have a fun evening. Chef William Carlström is also incredibly skilled and makes great food that you can snack on.”

More great French food!
“Le Passepartout on Kungsholmen is run by a mother, father and son. A small French wine bar serving simple food and lots of good wine. A genuine and cordial location.”

A perfect Saturday
“My perfect Saturday is sleeping in, buying cheap coffee at Beck Kaffebar down in the street, having lunch at Främmat, taking a nap on the couch, shopping for delicacies at Supermercado for my wife, drinking a bottle of Jura wine with the song ‘Ruby and Cherise’ by Bonnie Prince Billy in the background, and taking a stroll down to Bar Agrikultur for one or two gin and tonics. If the evening socialising continues, I will likely end up at Fenix or one of Södermalm's sunken bars.”
