There was no lack of determination when Katrine (36) and Tina (32) gave it their all down the steepest sections of Kvitfjell with Aksel Lund Svindal. They were going to pass him – but the speed got a little out of hand.

“He was always a few meters ahead – even though I think he was holding back a bit. We just had to keep up. It was insanely fun!”

The friends from Molde beat everyone and won the ultimate SpennX competition: a dream day on the slopes with the speed legend himself.

They had some great conversations with Aksel on the lift, chatting about his experiences, cabin building, and of course, how to gain maximum speed coming out of a turn.

“We’re more than a little into skiing – and we love speed. We’ve followed Aksel’s career for years, and I’ve had this little daydream about skiing with him. The fact that it actually happened feels unreal,” says Katrine, who grew up at her grandfather’s ski resort and competed before switching to snowboarding.

Katrine says she’s downloaded the Spenn app, ready to earn Spenn for new experiences.

“Norwegian flies from Molde, and I often stay at Strawberry hotels, so it’s perfect for me to earn Spenn across companies. The fact that I can shop for outdoor gear in the app and earn Spenn at the same time is a huge bonus,” she says.

The women got to ski with Aksel for 4–5 hours, and Katrine is still buzzing with excitement:

“Colleagues and friends who are into skiing totally get how big this is. They said, ‘You two are crazy – so it’s a perfect match,’” she laughs.
